It’s Not Your Fault

Daydream much?…or do you watch tv, or read to escape from reality? This a milder version of something called dissociation, which is another way to get out of an unpleasant environment. Our minds can protect us in amazing ways.

Our minds are taking care of us. Whether we daydream or zone out, suffer from depression, anxiety, ADHD, schizophrenia, or any other mental illness, IT’S NOT OUR FAULT. We are adapting to an unpleasant reality, rooted in the past or in the present, the best way we can. That is survival. Believe it or not, it’s self-care.

Your mental illness is not your fault.
