Anxiety Treatment
Treating Anxiety: one treatment approach for clients with anxiety is to define the sources of that anxiety and then to focus on understanding how those anxieties present themselves in the client’s life. That part is usually pretty easy. It is the people and situations that trigger anxiety that bring clients to counselling. The client and I then work together to analyze the client’s current situation and the choices the client has made that prevent the client from solving the problem, or don’t allow the client to deal with their trigger. Following up on that, we work on finding new choices that the client can make to create a better situation for himself/herself. Each problem is carefully identified and analyzed. By highlighting the client’s free will, I try to help the client find opportunities for making choices that empower him/her and to eventually resolve the anxiety.
