Anxiety and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
When I took my counselling degree, I studied many different psychological theories and the pros and cons of their applications for different illnesses. When my clients present with anxiety now, I discuss stress management with them, because stress reduction has been proven to be key to reducing anxiety. Of the many theories I studied, cognitive behavioral therapy is very good at stress reduction and it is my first choice for a therapy for clients with anxiety.
